'Apocalypsis' is Latin for 'uncovering' or 'revelation'.
† Why 7 of 7? The number 7 is a central quantum in The Book of Revelation, referenced over 50 times.
*This work was originally created in 2016. Its initial inspiration surrounded apocalyptic themes of war and political unrest, but the severity of events in 2016 pale in comparison to our world today. The aura of uncertainty at present is much more tangible. This was the basis for revisiting this work.
Typically, the concept of apocalypse has referred to a calamatous event culminating in the end of civilization, or more specifically, the end of civilization as we have known it. It is obvious that the world is in the midst of a massive paradigm shift; yet,the sign of the times may not necessarily signal impending doom (although it may), as much as the beginning of a dramatic transformation. Ultimately the change will be hard to bear for many as history has consistently shown. The overall feeling of what is to come is reaching fever pitch, and it seems as though a new era of human evolution is upon us.
Regardless of the outcome in the months or years ahead, one thing is for certain: the old ways we once knew are coming to end. What will be revealed to us remains to be seen.
"The image of a totally good God -- albeit pestered by a dissociated evil Satan -- is no longer viable. Instead, the new God-image coming into conscious realization is that of a paradoxical union of opposites; and with it comes a healing of the metaphysical split that has characterized the entire Christian aeon."
– Edward Edinger, 'The Archetype of the Apocalypse'
